The annual Southern Iowa Grazing Conference will emphasize soil health, dairy farming, and grass-fed beef production on Friday and Saturday, February 12-13, at the Mutchler Community Center in Bloomfield, IA. Join farmers and colleagues from across the Midwest to network, learn, and enjoy delicious farm-grown food.
For the past 3 years, a dedicated team of Southern Iowa graziers have been doing all the behind the scenes conference organizing. This year, they are partnering with the Davis County Natural Resource Conservation Service (NRCS) and Pathfinders RC&D (that's us!) . Davis County NRCS and Pathfinders bring a wealth of experience in organizing community and agricultural education events. Together, we are able to offer a conference with an exceptional line-up of speakers and topics and more ways to get in touch with conference organizers – visit the Southern Iowa Grazing Conference website for more information and to register.
Our keynote speaker is Elaine Ingham, distinguished soil biologist and founder of Soil Foodweb, Inc. Dr. Ingham offers a user-friendly approach to understanding and interacting with soil health in your farming operation. Dr. Ingham will discuss what soil health is, how you can influence it, and how it can influence your farm.
Saturday sessions will include presentations on farming in the public eye, the economics of dairy farming, and grass-fed beef production.
Hope to see you there!
